¿Usted conoce a su vendedor de Farmer’s Market?

Don Zamudio lleva dos años vendiendo su fruta en el Farmer’s Market de East Palo Alto y viene desde Escalon, California. Con una oportunidad, el comenzó su puesto en Farmer’s Market. “Me dieron la oportunidad de participar no somos nosotros los que escogemos, si no ellos nos escogen a nosotros, ellos no sé cómo le hicieron nos invitaron, y dijimos pues vamos a probar y ya tenemos dos años,” dijo Don Zamudio.

Para Don Zamudio no fue fácil comenzar su negocio. “Esos son los lugares buenos todos estos lugares que tienen un año o dos años o que van a comenzar se empieza de nada,” dijo Don Zamudio. Los clientes de Don Zamudio y otros vendedores de Farmer’s Market opinan que la verdura y la fruta es de una buena calidad. Como dijo Doña María López “Bien bonita y fresca, me gusta mucho y si está bien barato.” También como dijo Dona Rechell e’ Dier “La selección es limitada pero es más barato.” Para los clientes es muy importante comprar su verdura y fruta orgánica por la salud de sus hijos. La locación también es conveniente para los clientes por que les queda a corta distancia de sus casas, puedes caminar y ahorrar gas. Y por eso los invitamos para que conozcan y vivan la experiencia en el Farmer’s Market de East Palo Alto.

¿Do you know your Farmers' Market vendor?

Transito Zamudio has been selling fruit at the EPA Community Farmers' Market for two years, traveling each weekend from Escalon, California. With a new opportunity, he got his start at the market. "They gave me the opportunity to participate. It wasn't us that decided, they chose us. I don't remember how they invited us, but it happened, and I said well, yes, let's try it and now we've been doing it for two years," said Transito Zamudio.

It was not easy for Zamudio to start his business. "All of these are good places to sell, but it takes one or two years to get there after starting from nothing," said Zamudio. His customers as well as other vendors at the market say that his produce is of high quality. As María López says, “it's attractive and fresh, I like it a lot, and it's cheap.” Dona Rechell e’ Dier said that "the selection is limited, but it is cheaper.” For many customers, it is very important to buy organic produce because of the health of their children. The location of the market, also, is convenient for many customers because it is close to their homes, allowing them to walk and save money on gas.
